Lisa Kroells

Nov. 16, 1961-Jan. 5, 2026

OSCEOLA, WI–Lisa Kroells, age 64, entered eternal life on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Lisa was born to Ann and Dale Scharfencamp on November 16, 1961, in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1980 and went on to earn her master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Bethel University in Roseville, Minnesota.

Lisa married her high school sweetheart, Karey Kroells, in November 1984 while student teaching in Hamburg, Germany, at the International School.

Lisa loved the outdoors and always looked forward to hiking and camping trips with her girlfriends. She had a deep passion for serving others, which led her on a mission trip to Mexico, as well as service trips to Texas and Florida to help those affected by hurricanes.

Lisa worked for many years at State Farm Insurance in roles including Data Processing Supervisor, New Agent Trainer, and Auditor. During this time, she raised three beautiful children, became the first female board member at Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Wyoming, Minnesota, helped establish the Cup of Faith coffee shop at Maranatha and other church coffee shops throughout Minnesota, and served as a Reserve Deputy with the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office.

Lisa’s passion was truly to serve. In her final years, she met countless people in airport terminals, hospitals, and waiting rooms, as well as the many nurses and doctors she encountered along her journey. She was a friend, a shoulder to lean on, and faithfully shared the gospel message with those she was called to walk alongside during life’s hardest moments.

Lisa will live on in the memories of all who knew her, especially her children: daughter Aliena Somers (Collin), Kaleb Kroells (Jennifer), and Lucas Kroells (Saige); her six earthly grandchildren, Adalyn, Rebekah, Sadie, Sawyer, Warner, and Wesley; and two grandchildren waiting to greet her in heaven.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Wyoming, Minnesota, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Grandstrand Funeral Homes. Condolences may be left at grandstrandfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Coffeehouse in Osceola, Wisconsin. https://www.missioncoffeehouse.org/
