Arlene B. Havemeier

NEW ULM–Arlene B. Havemeier, age 93, of New Ulm passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, surrounded by the Sisters of Divine, staff of Divine Providence, and her family. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Arlene Havemeier is survived by her son, Dean Havemeier of Searles; her daughters, Ardis (Dan) Reinhart of Lafayette and Judy Havemeier of New Ulm; nine grandchildren, Andrew (Jessica) Havemeier, Bobbie Jo Havemeier (special friend, Aaron), Kathy (Lance) Oscarson, Laura Havemeier, Becky (Mac) Gosewisch, Justin (Hyde) Flor, Bethany Zinniel, John (Molly) Reinhart, Sarah (Brian) Grussendorf; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth (Hippert) and Arthur Gerber; her brother, Donald Gerber; her sister, Ethel Korn; and her daughter-in-law, Patty Havemeier.

Arlene Havemeier was born on August 11, 1932, in Wells, Minnesota. She graduated from Kiester High School and later attended Mankato Beauty School. She then worked as a hair dresser for Wavelyn Hair Salon in New Ulm. On September 12, 1954, she married Waldemar Havemeier and their union was blessed with three children. Arlene cherished raising her family and embraced the joys of farm life. She also worked for over 20 years at Loretto and Union Hospital. In her free time, Arlene found great joy dancing to old-time music with friends, tending to her beautiful flowers, reading the Bible, and helping her children.
