LAFAYETTE, LA–It is with sadness that her sisters announce the passing of Debra “Debbie” Domeier Nelams on Thursday, January 1, 2026 in Lafayette, LA.

Born on May 20, 1958 to Ferdinand “Ferdie” and DeMaris (Lippert) Domeier in New Ulm, MN, as a young woman, she moved to Church Point, LA, where she met her life partner, David Nelams. Together they raised four children, They survive her, along with grandchildren; siblings, Katherine “Kitty” (Ron) Russo, Downers Grove, IL, Patty Furth, New Ulm, MN, and Cheryl (Glen) Higgenbotham, Church Point, LA, and several uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand John Domeier and Demaris “Dee” Mack, brother Anthony “Tony” Domeier, and niece, Jenine Marie Furth, along with various uncles and aunts.
