MANKATO–David Ronald Bakke, age 82, of North Mankato, MN died Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Mapleton Community Home. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato. Family will greet visitors for 1 hour prior to the service. Woodland Hills Funeral Home in Mankato is handling arrangements.

David was born December 16, 1943 in New Ulm, MN to Ralph and Gladys (Nelson) Bakke. He grew up and attended school in Gibbon, MN. He served in the Army for 2 years stationed in Hawaii and then served in the Air Force for 1 year being stationed in San Fransico, getting a hardship discharge to take care of things at home. He worked at Northland Beverage before working at Carlson Craft for 20 years, retiring in 2009. David loved bird watching and Gospel music, especially songs by Bill Gaither.

He is survived by his twin brother, Roald Dennis (Kathryn) Bakke of Richfield, MN; nephew, Joel (Tammy) Bakke and their children Ashley & Ethan; niece Andreia (Mark) Nienow and their children, Luke and Caleb; many other nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roy Bakke; sister, Joyce Allen; a sister in infancy; several aunts & uncles.
