On June 5, 1954, Doris married the love of her life, James Sandmann. Together they built a beautiful life, filled with laughter and love, until his passing in June 2011. Doris cherished their years together and found solace in the loving memories they created as a family.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Doris was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Morgan, MN, where she taught Sunday School and in Vocation Bible School for many years. Her beautiful voice resonated through the church as she sang in the choir, uplifting the spirits of those around her with every note.
Doris was also proud of her contributions to her community. She served as an active member of the Zetetic Club, always eager to lend a helping hand and bring people together. She also supported her husband’s commitment to Lion’s Club.
She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts. Her daughter’s; Kathy (Scott) Potter of Brainerd, MN, Sharon (Kevin) Hyland of Austin, MN, Lori Sandmann of Colfax, Iowa, Julie (Kirk) Friesner of New Ulm, MN, and her son’s; Bob (Monica) Sandmann of Morgan, MN, and Jeff (Kareen) Sandmann of Grimes, Iowa. As we remember Doris, let us celebrate the kindness she bestowed upon all, the lessons she imparted, and the love that she so generously shared. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will inspire all who knew her. Rest in peace, dear Doris. Your light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
Blessed be her memory.
