Floyd Arthur Rogotzke

SPRINGFIELD–Floyd Arthur Rogotzke, age 80, of Springfield, MN, died on December 18, 2025, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Visitation will be on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p..m. at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN and will continue Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. Interment will be at the St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery.

Floyd Arthur Rogotzke was born on May 18, 1945, to Harold and Irene (Welsch) Rogotzke in Springfield, MN. After graduating from Springfield High School in 1963, Floyd enlisted in the Army Reserve and served 3 1/2 years. On October 9, 1965, he was united in marriage to Susan Honl at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield. They farmed west of Springfield until their retirement in 2010 but continued to help and completed last season’s harvest. Floyd was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #257, a member of the Sons of the American Legion, served 30 years on the board of Harvestland, was a member of the Redwood Cattleman’s Association, Knights of Columbus, Brown County Veterans Council, Springfield Area Foundation, St. Raphael Catholic Church, and Catholic Order of Foresters. He was awarded the Spirit of Springfield. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, playing cards, volunteering, calling Bingo, traveling and he cherished time with family and weekends together

He is survived by his wife Susan; children – Shelley (Dan) Shoen, Michael (Christina) Rogotzke, James (Sara) Rogotzke, and Curtis (Heather) Rogotzke all of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters – Patricia (Walter) Nelson of Maple Grove and Gloria Dingfelder of Montevideo, MN; and brothers-in-law – Tom (Sandy) Honl of Springfield and Steven (Louise) Honl of Rice, MN. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Matthew and brothers-in-law – Ronald Dingfelder and LeRoy Honl and sister-in-law – Gail Honl.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in memory of Floyd to the Brown County Veterans Council, St. Raphael Catholic Church and the Springfield Public Library.
