NEW ULM–Margaret A. Beck, age 75, of New Ulm, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at her home in New Ulm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm, with Father Tanner Thooft celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH Chapel and will continue from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday. Margaret is survived by her children, Jon (Rachel Sturm) Beck and Linda (George) Beranek; six grandchildren, Bryce and Landon Beck, Audrey, Mark, and Violet Beranek, and Brandon Sturm; brother, James Hesse; sister-in-law, Diane (Dan) Abraham; brothers-in-law, James Beck and Richard (Sue) Beck; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Verona Hesse; husband, David in 2021; daughter, Julie; parents-in-law, Roger and Caroline Beck; sisters-in-law, Kathy Hesse and Jane Beck.

Margaret Ann Hesse was born on July 16, 1950 in New Ulm to Walter & Verona (Kaping) Hesse. She graduated from Cathedral High School. Margaret was united in marriage to David Beck on September 18, 1971 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Their union was blessed with three children, whom together, they raised in New Ulm. Margaret worked a variety of jobs throughout her life. She was a telephone operator for New Ulm Telecom, worked at PGI Mailers, helped in the kitchen at NUACS, and also worked at Randall’s Grocery Store and Hy-Vee. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards, reading, and playing bingo. She also loved spending time with her family, which was always important to her. Margaret was a lifelong member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Church, and her faith was a steady part of her life.

She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Blessed be her memory.
