Linda Mary Hull (Dietz) joined the choir of the angels, on October 29, 2025. She was born on January 11, 1946, to Dolores (Kloeckl) Dietz & Arthur Dietz, in New Ulm, MN, where she was raised by her parents, with her nine siblings. Linda graduated from Cathedral High School, in New Ulm, MN, in 1964, and married in 1965, and had three children. She worked in New Ulm, MN, as a telephone operator, a child care provider, Herberger’s department store, a grocery store clerk at Madsen’s, and Kraft Foods.

On August 26, 1989, Linda married Dennis Hull, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, in Nashua, IA. Following her marriage to Dennis (Denny), Linda worked for Curries in Mason City, IA, up until her retirement. Linda and Denny resided in Charles City and enjoyed 36 years of marriage; dancing together, riding motorcycles, volunteering at American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars events, and spending time walking in the woods of their home. She was a First Soprano in the Cathedral Choir and New Ulm Chorale and sang with family and local bands for many years. Linda even had the privilege of singing some of her favorite songs, at the famous Captain’s Table at Printer’s Alley, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Linda was an extraordinary seamstress, sewing for the first time at age 6. She sewed just about anything, from homemade costumes, to sleeping bags for her son (John’s) Star Wars figures, doll clothes and matching dresses for her daughters (Jayne and Annie), bridal gowns and prom dresses, putting patches onto leather jackets, and reupholstering pontoon seats. Linda was also a quilter and enjoyed being a member of quilting and sewing clubs. Her many hand-made blankets will continue to be cherished by her family. Linda had a keen eye for beauty in all things, which enhanced her creativity in so many ways. She loved to find faces in the clouds and among the trees, pretty rocks along the riverbanks, and seashells or fossils in the sand. Linda’s creativity also led her to write poetry, having some of her work published, in a small book of poems. She spent much time tending her flowers and vegetable gardens, and the love she poured into her plants was reflected in their growth and flourish, much like those around her, who will continue to carry her love forward.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Arthur Dietz; brothers-in-law, Ken Hart and Gary Schreyer, Dick Hull, Jerry Kapping, Steve Kapping; sister-in-law, Janet Dietz, Connie (Kapping) Richards, Deb (Kapping) Christiansen; niece, Nadine Schreyer; and granddaughter, Annabelle Smith.

Linda is survived by her husband, Dennis Hull; brothers: John Dietz of MN, Jerry Dietz of Texas, Joe (and Lori) Dietz of MN, Vince Dietz of MN; sisters: Pauline (and Chuck) Poppler of MN, Mary Schreyer of South Dakota, Roseanne (and Don) Mellesmoen of MN, Barbie Hart of South Dakota, and Francie (and Mark) Sandmann of MN; brothers-in-law: Roger (and Lois) Hull of MN and Calvin Hull of IA; sisters-in-law: Maureen (Hull) Briles and Vicki Kapping, both of IA; her son: John Richter (and Melanie Allison); daughters: Jayne Richter-Smith and Annie (and Keith) Schuelke; grandsons: Dylan Anderson (and Rhiannon Kuenzel), Ian Anderson (and Megan Hofland), Gram Anderson (and Kaitlin Shawback), Ryan (and Sedona) Schuelke, and Gatlin Richter; granddaughters: Amanda Tauer (and Phil Raymond), Aubrie (and Ben) Wiedl, Macy Richter (and Tyler Blank), and Brooklynn Schuelke; great-grandsons; Cooper Anderson, Dean Schuelke, and Laken Schuelke; and great-granddaughters: Adriana Tauer and Kaiya Blank; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Linda will be deeply missed by many family members, as well as friends. She was kind, sweet, funny, and often put others’ needs before her own. She is surely filling the heavens with her beautiful songs and likely, hemming the dresses of angels with the finest lace! Blessed be her memory, which shall be abundantly treasured.

Funeral arrangements are with Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, (641) 228-4211, 401 Blunt Street, Charles City, IA, 50616. Online condolences may be left at www.fullertonfh.com.
