Kent Lee was born on April 20, 1957 in New Ulm, Minnesota to Richard Blomquist and Yvonne (Torgrimson) Blomquist.
Kent attended New Ulm Public Schools and graduated in 1976. He joined the US Army in April 1980 and was honorably discharged in April 1984. He served in Germany and Texas. After his discharge, he attended Mankato Technical College for heating and air conditioning.
After discharge, he met the love of his life, Gail and they were married February 7, 1986 at New Ulm. Kent and Gail were overjoyed when their daughter, Briana was born March 14, 1990. She was the “other” love of his life. They were like three peas in a pod!
Kent worked at Kraft before and after the Army. He also worked for Wurtz Electric and the Diocese of New Ulm and for Cathedral Parish in maintenance. Kent was very well liked in his places of employment. He enjoyed learning new things.
Kent’s interests were varied! Hunting, fishing, spending time at the family lake home, going to Cocoa Beach, Florida and being the dedicated shark wrangler for the locals and tourists alike. He was an avid bicyclist riding 15 miles a day. He enjoyed golfing with his special buddies and being with his friends, and being a part of the Comrades of Valor Honor Guard. Not to forget to mention, he was always on the lookout for Bigfoot and UFOs. He was fascinated by the unexplained. He had the love of muscle cars, riding motorcycles, and snowmobiles. He was known as a jack of all trades, one major accomplishment being “Wind Wings,” which was a wind powered duck decoy company he created and sold all over the world. Kent loved the Vikings and the Minnesota Twins and would often text his buddy Joe regularly throughout the games. He and Gail also loved spending time on their farm site together.
Most of all, though, he enjoyed spending time with whom he called “his two favorite girls.”
Surviving Kent are his wife, Gail Blomquist of 40 years, daughter, Briana Blomquist of Mankato, his mother Yvonne Blomquist of New Ulm and his sister Yvette Mosenden (Paul) of Hanska plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Richard on June 12, 2025, grandparents and many other relatives.
Although Kent is gone, countless wonderful memories will forever stay in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. Blessed be those memories.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
