NEW ULM–Alan Carl Schwarz, 96 of New Ulm died peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Vista Prairie at Ridgeway on German. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm.  Pastor Brian Scoles will officiate, and burial will follow in the Soldier’s Rest Section of the New Ulm City Cemetery where the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will provide full military honors. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church prior to the service on Tuesday. The Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes of New Ulm are assisting the family with arrangements at this time. Alan is survived by his sons, David Schwarz of Aitken, James Schwarz of New Ulm, Mark Schwarz of Benson, Thomas Schwarz of Big Lake; his 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren (with 2 more on the way).
