Stanley S. Youngblom

LAFAYETTE–Stanley S. Youngblom, age 90, of Lafayette, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm, MN. Funeral Service will be Sunday, October 5, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Lafayette with Reverend Bruce Bringle and Reverend Stephen Anenson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.

Stanley Swen Youngblom was born on October 13, 1934, in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County, MN. He was the son of Werner and Esther (Johnson) Youngblom. Stanley was baptized as an infant and was confirmed in his youth both at First Lutheran Church in Lafayette. He received his education in New Ulm and was a graduate of the New Ulm High School class of 1952.

Stanley served his country in the National Guard from 1957-1963.

On July 12, 1958, Stanley was united in marriage to Shirley Lundgren at Clear Lake Lutheran Church, rural Gibbon, MN. After their marriage, the couple resided in Lafayette. Stanley and Shirley were blessed with three children, Pamela, Alan and Lori. He was self-employed as a painter. Stanley and Shirley shared 48 years of marriage when Shirley passed away on June 17, 2007.

Stanley was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lafayette, MN, and the Lafayette Lions Club.

Stanley enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and community functions. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Stanley is survived by his children, Pamela Akins and her husband, Peter of Mankato, MN, Alan Youngblom and his wife, Marlene of Lafayette, MN, and Lori Thronson and her husband, Mike of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Joel Thronson and his wife, Vivian, Ashley Thronson and Cindi Thronson; sister, Elaine Hermanson of Nicollet, MN; Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Stanley was preceded in death by his Parents, Werner and Esther Youngblom; Wife, Shirley Youngblom; Brother, Maynard Youngblom; Sister, Vivian Altman.
