Growing up in rural Hanska, Butch attended school at the Cathedral in New Ulm and Madelia, but later in life attained his GED. Butch was united in marriage to Debra Mack on April 16, 1976, in Iowa. This union blessed the couple with three sons whom together they raised in rural New Ulm. Butch had various careers in his lifetime, which included working at W.L Hall Co. of Eden Prairie, and Del Monte in Sleepy Eye. He participated in the community by teaching CCD at New Ulm St. Mary’s, and was a fourth degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was fond of trapping, hunting, mushroom hunting, fishing, making maple syrup by the river, and cutting firewood with his entire family. Butch loved sharing his lifetime stories and shared many laughs. Above all, Butch treasured time with his family and friends. His quick wit, big heart, and love for the outdoors will be remembered by all who knew him. Though he is gone from our sight, the stories he told, the lessons he shared, and the laughter he brought will live on in the lives he touched. Blessed be his memory.
