Ardis June Groebner

NEW ULM–Ardis June Groebner, age 97, of New Ulm, died Friday, September 5, 2025 at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm, with Pastor Kathleen Ulland-Klinkner officiating. Burial will follow in New Ulm City Cemetery – Soldiers Rest Section. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm. Ardis is survived by her sons, Joel (Danette) Groebner of Longmont, CO, Michael (Diane) Groebner of Klossner; grandchildren, Tracy (Andrew) Welker of North Branch, MN, Justin (Tammie) Nelson of St. Peter, MN, Emerson (Troy) Kennedy of Boulder, CO, Patrick (Xochilt) Groebner, Melia (Miguel) Esparza of Raymond, MN, Jared Groebner of Klossner, MN; great-grandchildren, Anna, Abby, Bekah, and Elise Welker; sister-in-law, Shirley Kettner; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max in 2019; daughter, Susan Nelson; sister, Betty (Cecil) Seim; brothers, Delbert (Joan) Kettner, LeRell Kettner.

Ardis June Groebner was born on June 12, 1928 at home in Sundown Township to Theodore and Freida (Drusch) Kettner. Ardis graduated from Springfield High School. She was united in marriage to Max Groebner on May 27, 1950, and their union was blessed with three children. Aside from being a wife and mother, Ardis owned and operated a washing and dry-cleaning business in New Ulm with Max. After selling the business, Ardis later returned to work at various drug stores in New Ulm. Outside of work, Ardis enjoyed painting, playing piano, and spending time with family and friends.
