FOREST LAKE–Peter Mitchell Davis was born into this world on Thursday, July 17, 2025, and born into his eternal life on Monday, July 21, 2025. In his short time on earth, Peter was deeply loved and held close by his family. Though his days were few, his life was meaningful, and his soul is now held securely in the arms of our Savior.

Peter is survived by his loving parents, Robert and Boston (Portner) Davis of Forest Lake, and his brother, Vincent Davis. He is the grandson of Mary and Tom Portner of Sleepy Eye and Vicky and Mitchell Davis of Powell, Wyoming. He is also loved by his aunts, Sabrina (Cainan) Florentino of Springfield, Isabella Portner of Sleepy Eye, Sister Mary Ann of New Ulm, and Sophia Portner of Sleepy Eye; his uncle Kevin (Ashley) Lietz of Utah; and his cousins–along with many other dear relatives.

Peter was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Joan and Donald Richert, Joan and Harold Portner, and Donna McCannon and Dennis Miller, who now welcome him into heaven’s embrace.

While our arms ache with emptiness, we are comforted by the promise of eternal life and the knowledge that Peter now rests in perfect peace with Jesus. We trust that God, who formed Peter with love, now holds him close safe in his keeping.

Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Father Craig Timmerman will celebrate the Mass, and burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at the church prior to the Mass.

The Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements at this time.
