Marlys Jean Krueger was born January 1, 1952 to Nelfred and Mildred (Grochow) Krueger in Gaylord. She graduated from Winthrop High School and continued her education by earning a degree from Mankato Commercial College. On May 29, 1982, Marlys was united in marriage to the love of her life, Mark Sletta, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bismark Township, Sibley County. Their union was blessed with two daughters. In addition to being a wife and mom, Marlys worked many different occupations over her life. She especially enjoyed her time as the head teller at New Ulm Savings and Loan – which became Wells Fargo. In her free time, Marlys enjoyed being an active member of Zion Lutheran church where she was the organist for over 25 years, going bowling in her younger years, watching her grandchildren play hockey, and going to Mavericks hockey games with Mark. Above all else, Marlys loved the time she was able to spend with Mark, her daughters, and her beloved grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by those that knew her. Blessed be her memory.
