Mabelle Elaine was born on July 6, 1926, to Elias and Maggie Hansvick. Mabelle spent her early years instilling in her children the values of hard work, love, and community that sh would carry throughout her life.

Mabelle shared a special partnership with her husband, Emil Stoll, whom she married in October 1949 on the Hansvick Farm in Vesta, MN. Together, they farmed in the Redwood Falls area and Southwest Minnesota until 1971, when they moved to California for new opportunities. Mabelle’s commitment to her family was a guiding light throughout her life, as she raised her children with love and patience.

Mabelle thrived in her professional life, working for over 40 years in office clerical positions at esteemed companies such as Eibners, 3M, Borg-Warner, and Ivy High School in Fallbrook, CA. She retired on June 30, 1990, closing one chapter of her life to embrace another, returning to Fairfax in 2006.

Mabelle filled her leisure hours with creative pursuits, finding joy in crafts, cross stitching, and crocheting. She passed on a love of making Lefse and her Norwegian heritage. Yet, her greatest delights came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The warmth of her hugs and the sparkle in her eyes remain vivid memories in the hearts of those lucky enough to know her.

Mabelle’s educational journey began at Wood Lake School, leading her to graduate in 1943 and further pursuing her passion for knowledge at the Minnesota School of Business, completing her studies in 1946. A devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, Mabelle nourished her spiritual life and forged heartfelt connections within her community.

She leaves behind her loving children, Dwight (former wife, Pat of St. Peter) Stoll of Cove, AR, Billy (Cheryl) Stoll of Fairfax, MN, Brenda Stoll (significant other Reed Hancock of Oceanside, CA), Steven (Paula) Stoll of Mountain, WI, Charles (Gail) Stoll of Omaha, NE, and Patricia Stoll of Redwood Falls, MN. Mabelle also cherished her role as a grandmother to 12 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 31 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the love and wisdom she instilled in them.

Mabelle was preceded in death by her parents, Elias and Maggie Hansvick; her beloved husband, Emil Stoll; her daughter, Emily Faye Stoll; and several siblings, including five brothers and two sisters. Her spirit and the memories she left behind will forever echo in the lives of her family and friends.

Mabelle will be profoundly missed but joyfully remembered, living on in the stories we share and the hearts she touched.

Blessed be her memory.
