Marvin was born April 29, 1933, in Sleepy Eye. He was the son of the late Arthur and Delores (Ludwig) Seifert. He spent his younger years helping on the farm. He married the love of his life, Janice Bushard, on October 10, 1956, in St George. They raised three daughters and shared a partnership filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to one another. Early on in his life, he enjoyed playing on the Stark baseball team, bowling in a couple’s league, and dabbled with coaching softball. He and his wife, Janice, along with his brother Lewis, opened Seifert’s Uptown Tavern in New Ulm and operated for several years before he committed to August Schells Brewing Company for 21 years. He was also employed by Gibbon Ballroom, New Ulm Country Club, Sleepy Eye Golf Course, MR Paving, Target, and MLC Cafeteria.
Marvin was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who spent all his time with his family. He had a great love of old-time music, which he passed on to his family. He had a great sense of humor, the biggest golden smile, was a hard worker, and was always generous with his time, talent, and treasure. Many memories were made throughout Marvin’s life and will live on in those who love him. Marvin will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him!!
Blessed be his memory.
