Tami Danette Dinsmore was born May 15, 1958, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Dawson and Yvonne (Olson) Dinsmore. Growing up in South Dakota, Tami was a 1976 graduate from Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls. On September 22, 1979, she married Jeff Studtmann at Courtland Evangelical Lutheran Church, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. They raised four children and shared a partnership filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to one another.
Tami wore many hats throughout her life, but caring for others was always at the heart of what she did. Early on, she ran an in-home daycare in Courtland, nurturing local children like they were her own. After a move to Wisconsin, she worked at Quality Overhead Door in Onalaska, then returned to Courtland and took a position at the New Ulm Journal. Once their family home was built, Tami returned to what she loved most, running her in-home daycare once again, providing dependable and heartfelt care to families in the community.
In later years, she brought her skills and steady presence to a variety of roles, including at Hiniker in Mankato, Tilton Power Equipment, Menomonie Industrial Supply, Gag’s Camper Way, and finally Johnson Outdoors, before retiring in 2023. Outside of work, Tami had a lifelong love of the outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, trips “Up North,” and snowmobiling with Jeff just to take in the peace of nature. She was also a talented crafter, creating beautiful crocheted gifts that her family and friends will treasure for years to come. A fan of sitting down to a good crime show, she always made time to unwind and enjoy the little things.
Above all else, Tami will be remembered for her enormous heart. She truly was “a mom to all”, an outstanding listener, a source of comfort, and someone who made others feel seen and supported. Her kindness extended beyond her own children to their friends and anyone in need of a good listening ear. She was a long-time member of Courtland Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she served on the Martha Circle and taught Sunday School when her children were young. Tami was a devoted wife, a proud mom, and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family meant everything to her, and her legacy of love, warmth, and generosity will live on in the lives she touched. May these memories, and the countless others forever stay in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her. Blessed be her memory.
