Howard Lawrence Wilfahrt

Sep. 23, 1939 – June 7, 2025
Howard Lawrence Wilfahrt, 85, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025. A proud Army veteran, devoted family man, and spirited adventurer, Howard lived a full and remarkable life defined by love, kindness, and strength.
Born in New Ulm, Minnesota, Howard spent many years there working and raising two daughters and enjoying his family. Following life’s changes, Howard’s path led him to Utah, where he met and married Christine. He embraced her two sons and daughter as his own, becoming a cherished stepfather and a central figure in their lives.
Howard retired after 23 years of military service, having enlisted at a young age and served with honor, including during the 1991 Gulf War. He embraced life with enthusiasm, enjoying fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, and exploring the outdoors–especially in Utah. He also had a deep appreciation for old-time music, which brought him great joy.
He is survived by his devoted wife and partner for eternity, Christine; brother Erv (Nancy); sons Frank (Casey) and Christopher; daughters Tammy and Penny Jo (Rick); grandchildren Brody, Trinity, Berrick, Ryder, Autumn, Jade, Damon, Elijah, Aspen, Sierra, Gage, Paisley and great-grandson Adam and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Tammaria, granddaughter Shannon, and brothers Jerry, Eugene, and Stanley.
Howard will be laid to rest in the military section of Mesquite Municipal Cemetery in Mesquite, Nevada. A proud veteran, he now rests among heroes, flies with the angels–forever remembered–a soldier for eternity and very much loved!
