LeRoy is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Alan) Bue of New Ulm; sons, Kevin Anderson of New Ulm, Darren (Julie) Anderson of Hector, and Marvin (Chris) Anderson of North Mankato; daughter-in-law Vicki Anderson; many grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; his special caregiver friend Jackie McLaughlin of New Ulm; sister Dee Kleinow of St. James; sisters-in-law Sandy Kittelson of New Ulm and Bonnie Kittelson of Stillwater; brothers-in-law Jerry (Tootie) Kittleson of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Marion Anderson; daughter, LeAnn Krzmarzick; granddaughter, Amanda Anderson; daughter-in-law, Kandice Anderson; sister-in-law Doris Batch; and brother-in-law Ray Kleinow.

LeRoy was born on February 6, 1934, in St. James, Minnesota, to John Walter and Esther Anderson. He graduated from Comfrey High School in 1951 and went on to study accounting at Mankato College. On June 23, 1956, he married Marion Kittleson at First Lutheran Church in St. James.

LeRoy farmed for many years and later worked at House construction, a Granite quarry and worked for the state of South Dakota. Eventually, he settled in New Ulm, where he worked at Courtland Concrete. Later, he worked in maintenance at the Brown County Courthouse until his retirement at age 79. He also gave back to his community by volunteering at the New Ulm Food Shelf for 11 years.

LeRoy enjoyed listening to music in the park especially the Concord singers, and visiting the Senior Center for lunch and bingo. He also liked gardening, feeding the birds, petting his cat, walking his dogs, giving his grandchildren “knuckles”, and striking up conversations; he was always friendly and never went anywhere without running into someone he knew. He especially loved going out with his daughter and playing quarters every week or playing pool at the bowling alley.

LeRoy was a regular at Joni’s Restaurant, where he often joined his grandson, Jeremy, and his family. LeRoy was known to order chocolate pie for breakfast. He enjoyed bragging about how he got called grandpa by the waitress and that his pie often beat him to the table. At Rodney’s Bar, his usual order was always ready within minutes of him walking in. He often said, “Rodney’s has the best burgers in town, done just right!”

He was up for any adventure and as he liked to say, “Yup, I’ll go–got nothing else to do!”

Blessed be his memory
