LITCHFIELD–Dorelle Malmberg, age 88 of Litchfield, Minnesota passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Meeker Manor in Litchfield, MN.

Memorial service will be held 12 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Minnesota. Burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Bernadotte Lutheran Church in Bernadotte, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Minnesota. Dorelle Malmberg was born June 6, 1936, in Duluth, MN. She was the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Anderson) Topliff. Dorelle was baptized as an infant. She was confirmed in the faith at Salem Lutheran Church in Hermantown, MN. She received her education in Duluth public school system and was a 1954 graduate of Denfield High School. She pursued her nursing education at St. Luke’s Hospital and graduated as a registered nurse in 1957.

On November 2, 1957 Dorelle was united in marriage to Harvey Lendt. This marriage had five children. Dorelle and Harvey parted ways. Dorelle met and married Russell Malmberg on June 23, 1984 at Bernadotte Lutheran Church, Bernadotte, MN. They shared 14 years of marriage before Russell passed away on December 9, 1998.

Dorelle’s 38 years of nursing served several communities in Brown County, MN. Experience was Medical/Surgical of hospital, Nursing Director of nursing homes and taught LPN classes at Union Hospital in New Ulm. When in grade school attended a missionary presentation at her Grandparents church. This presentation instilled in her the idea to someday go to Africa. Sixty-one years later, her faith inspired her to complete her dream to travel to Africa with her church missionary.

Dorelle shared her sewing talent and made cloths and quilts for family, friends, disadvantaged children and quilts for Veterans. Her long arm machine quilted over many quilts.

Dorelle enjoyed her large gardens and canning, which provided abundant produce. She taught her children how to plan and keep up the garden.

Community service include Salvation Army, developing a charter school and voluntarily assisted in township elections. Dorelle enjoyed traveling with Russell to many places such as Alaska, Canada, Caribbean and Panama Canal. Russell and Dorelle enjoyed ice fishing with friends and family creating many entertaining experiences.

Dorelle is survived by brother, Robert (Faye) Topliff and step-brothers, Kenneth Ryberg (Roxie) and Paul Ryberg. Five children: Cheryl (Greg) Morgan; Gloria (Joe) Schularick; Brian (Sharon) Lendt; Allen Lendt (special friend, Mary Roers), and Veronica (Mark) Mushinski. 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Russell Malmberg; Parents: Charles and Helen Topliff and Dorothy and Harold Ryberg; Sister, Carlotta Moore and Nathaniel Topliff.
