NEW ULM–Adeline E. Wiltscheck, age 101, of New Ulm, died on Sunday, June 01, 2025 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm, with Father Gerald Meidl officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 5 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH Chapel, and will continue from 10-11:30 a.m. on Friday prior to the service.The Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Adeline is survived by her sons, Gene (Kris), Randy (Carol), and Rick, all of New Ulm; daughters, Joanne Hacker of New Ulm and Kathy (Gregg Handley) Jackson of Evergreen, CO; daughters-in-law, Norma and Annie; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, Charlie Holm of New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 2003; her parents; sons, Robert, Gary, and Alan “Smiley”; sister, Luella Bell; sisters-in-law, Florence Wiltscheck, Sophie Holm, Gladys Holm, Freida Holm, Sylvia Holm, Bernice Holm, Loretta Holm and brothers, Ben, Ervin, Raymond, Louis “Jackpot”, and Henry Holm; two brothers, Harold and Robert in infancy; brothers-in-law, Clarence Prahl and Dennis Wiltscheck.
Adeline Elizabeth Holm was born on April 18, 1924 in New Ulm to Henry & Milly (Seifert) Holm. She was united in marriage to Harold Wiltscheck on March 13, 1943 in New Ulm. Adeline was a homemaker, raising her 8 kids on the farm. She drove school bus for 15 years, and some semi-trucks. Adeline played drums in the Northside Dutchmen band until she was 80. She enjoyed her plants, tending to her large garden, playing cards, and polka music. Most of all, Adeline loved spending time with her “dysfunctional” family. Blessed be her memory.
