NEW ULM–Judith A. Gruenhagen, age 79, of New Ulm passed away after a long battle with dementia on Monday, May 19, 2025 at the Sleepy Eye Rehabilitation Center.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Mark Steffl celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Judith is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Todd) Pfaff; 3 grandchildren, Aaron (Whitney) Pfaff, Drew (Stacy) Pfaff and Karlee Pfaff; 4 great-grandchildren, Harper, Nora and Owen Pfaff and Corinne Pfaff; brothers, Ronald (Florence) Metzen and Alan (Mary Lou) Metzen.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen Gruenhagen and her brother, Robert Grathwohl.
Judith Ann Metzen was born August 17, 1945 to Adolph and Josephine (Grathwohl) Metzen in New Ulm. Judith graduated from Cathedral High School. On July 30, 1965 she was united in marriage to Allen Henry Gruenhagen in Mankato. Judith worked at New Ulm Telecom and B.F. Goodrich/Pantasote for over 20 years. Judy enjoyed baking, cleaning, sewing and crafting. She loved to camp and travel with her husband but above all else she loved to spend time with her family. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
