She is survived by her daughter Kathryn A. Reed age 70 (Eugene OR), her sister Doris Hildebrandt (Kenyon MN), 4 nieces, 1 nephew and great nieces and great nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Herman & Frieda (Hager) Ganske, Wallace Hildebrandt (brother-in-law), Eric Hildebrandt (nephew), and Lori Hildebrandt (niece).

Ruth graduated in 1948 and worked in and around New Ulm until 1953. She moved to Long Beach California and worked in the Electrical Assembly for 5 years. Upon returning home Ruth took a very good job at Kraft Foods, working there for 32+ years. After retiring in 1990 she did 15 years of Volunteer work.

Ruth and her daughter enjoyed many vacations; twice to Canada, the Dakotas, Iowa, Wisconsin, Kansas, Texas, Montana, and Wyoming, exporting National Parks, sightseeing and visiting friends.

Over the years Ruth enjoyed her flower garden, the Minnesota TWINS, Class Plays, and especially getting together with classmates, Church friends and neighbors for food and conversation. She was an avid letter writer and at age 73 learned how to use the computer for email. A big love in Ruth’s life were her lovely cats and later 2 small dogs.

In 2014 she moved from her long-time home to Assisted Living at Ridgeway North and in spring of 2023, in need of more care, moved to Good Sam in Waconia.

Memorial Service held at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, South Chapel Saturday May 17th. Visitation 9:30, funeral at 11 followed by interment at the New Ulm Cemetery.
