Harold Robert Belin was born May 10, 1931, in Hayfield, MN to August and Edith (Eklund) Belin. He attended school in Dodge County. Following graduation, Harold held several local jobs while helping his father with the farm. He was called to active duty as a Field Wireman in Korea for the US Army from 1952-1954 and then served in the reserves until his honorable discharge in 1960. Harold received his Senior Accounting Diploma from Mankato Commercial College upon his return from Korea. He then started his career in corporate accounting at International Milling Company (“IMC” later known as International Multifoods) in 1956 in Minneapolis. On October 17, 1959, he married Beverly Burns in Minneapolis. The couple was blessed with one daughter and three sons. He joined Supersweet Feeds, a division of IMC, in 1960 and moved to New Ulm with the company. He was promoted to plant manager with an assignment in Freemont, NE. With Supersweet Feeds, Harold had additional plant and district manager promotions to Grand Island, NE and Girard, KS. He moved to Minneapolis in 1976 for a regional position with Supersweet Feeds. His final company position took him back to New Ulm, where he retired in 1992, with 32 years of service to the same company. Harold enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and was a big fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Timberwolves, Twins, and Gophers. His true love was playing cards, and the competitive fun it brought for him. He was a long-time member with various roles at Redeemer Lutheran church in New Ulm. He was also active in school and YMCA programs, where his children participated.
Harold lived a long, well lived life, where many memories were made with those he loved. He will be dearly missed. Blessed be his memory.
