Shirley Julia Altmann was born May 12, 1937 to Marvin and Helen (Reitter) Altmann in New Ulm. She went to grade school in District #51, then graduated from New Ulm High School in 1955. She began working at the Klossner Ballroom and then worked at the Klossner State Bank. On October 18, 1968, Shirley was united in marriage to William “Bill” Krohn at St. Gregory the Great in Lafayette. The couple resided in the twin cities area until 1990, when they retired and moved back to Lafayette. Shirley enjoyed gardening, puzzles, bingo, and traveling with Bill. They especially enjoyed the 24 years they wintered in Weslaco, Texas, where they enjoyed getting together with family and friends. Shirley was a member of St. Gregory the Great, the Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic United Financial, and the CCW. Many fond memories were made going on fishing trips to Canada and North Dakota with Bill, going camping, and spending time with all her family and friends. Shirley will be dearly missed by those that knew her. Blessed be her memory.

The family of Shirley thanks the staff at Orchard Hills and Oak Hills for their caring and professional service.
