FAIRFAX–Vivian Schroeder, age 98, of Fairfax passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at South View Living Center in Gibbon. Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 19, 2025, 2:00 P.M. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax with Pastor Jesse DeDeyne officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Gathering of Family and Friends will be one hour prior to the service, ALL at the church.
Vivian Pearl (Peterson) Schroeder was born on March 7, 1927, to David and Tina (Skolberg) Peterson in Martinsburg Township, Renville County, MN. Vivian was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Vivian graduated from Buffalo Lake High School in 1945. She worked as a secretary at Farmers Elevator in Buffalo Lake before marrying Myron Schroeder of Fairfax on September 24, 1949. They were blessed with one daughter, Rhonda. Vivian and Myron shared 74 years of marriage when Myron passed away on March 28, 2024.
Vivian was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax and a member of the Ladies Aid. She loved to golf, play cards, fish and camp and spend time with family and friends.
Vivian is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Buboltz and her husband, Gary of Fairfax, MN; grandsons, Nathan Buboltz and his wife, Tara, Keith Buboltz and his wife, Erin, and Adam Buboltz and his special friend, Catlin Ziesmer; 6 great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Jackson, Dylan and Levi, Nolan and Collins; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, David and Tina Peterson; husband, Myron Schroeder; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Fred Hatter, Arlys and Jerome Palmer; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Leora Peterson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Elmer and Viola Schroeder and his second wife, LaVerna Schroeder; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lorna and Tom Mickelson, and Mildred and Jim Clark.
