NEW ULM–Mary Beth Sehr, 85, of New Ulm died Sunday, September 1, 2024 at the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Burial will Follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH Chapel in New Ulm. Visitation will continue from 9:30 – 10:30 am on Friday at the Funeral Home. The Christian Mother’s will pray the rosary on Thursday at 4pm at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Mary Beth is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen Rewerts, Diane (Albert) Swintek, Jane (Guy) Lohman; son, Steven (Debb) Sehr; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Jeffrey (Beverly) Bechner and nieces; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin Sehr; and son-in-law, Rex Rewerts.

Mary Elizabeth Bechner was born on July 20, 1939 in New Ulm to Alfred and Florence (Connolly) Bechner. She attended St. Mary’s grade school and Cathedral High School. On March 1, 1956 she was united in marriage to Edwin Sehr at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. Mary Beth enjoyed playing dice with her friends, family genealogy, reading, and family vacations but above all else she loved to spend time with her family. She was a member of the New Ulm Junior Pioneers, Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Christian Mother’s in New Ulm. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
