SANBORN–Thomas Peter Platz, age 82, of Springfield, MN and formerly of Sanborn, MN died on July 7, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will continue on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Sanborn Community Center. Service will be held at the Sanborn Community Center on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. The clergy will be Chaplain Noel Wetter. Interment will be at the Sanborn City Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com. He is survived by his wife Jeri of Springfield; children Debbie Perry of Rancho Murieta, CA and Heidi Wersal of Sanborn; and 4 grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Kenneth and Joe; sisters Dorris Goettig, Rosalyn Sell, Marjorie Boklep, Marion Roiger, and Elizabeth Bolinder; and a brother and sister in infancy.
