Steven S. Kodada

CAMBRIA–Steven S. Kodada, age 75, of Cambria, went to sleep in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at his home.

Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Cambria Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Sue Goebel officiating. Burial with full military honors accorded by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will follow in Cambria Cemetery.

Steven Stanislav Kodada was born in Northfield, MN to Stanley and Lois (Carlson) Kodada on May 18, 1948. He grew up there.

In 1969, he married Connie Grieble and moved to a farm in Searles. After a divorce in 1983, he headed to Alaska on a motorcycle and only got as far as Billings, MT. There he worked for a few years before moving to Wyoming. He got a job at Arrowhead Lodge in the Bighorn Mountains. He was there as a manager and head cook and maintenance for 13 years.

The Lodge is where he met Debbie Jordan. They dated then broke up in 1994. After a 7-year separation, they dated again and married on May 18, 2002 in Northfield.

In 2006, they moved to New Ulm where Steve started working for Hoffmann Construction. He ran the demolition landfill until he retired after a stroke in July 2023. On May 1, 2010 they bought a home in Cambria. There they had a hobby farm with goats and chickens. They joined Cambria Presbyterian Church where Steve became an elder.

In July of 2023, Steve had a stroke and developed other physical problems.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Stan and Lois Kodada; sisters, Barbara Kodada and Linda DeMann; and great grandchild, Paisley Van Beek.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; four daughters, Tanya Kodada of Iowa, Kaydra Van Skike (Gary) of Iowa, Jessica Kodada of Minnesota, and Karri Rosebloom of Colorado; four sons, Starr Kodada of Minnesota, Michael (Kari) Lockwood of New Hampshire, Scott (Amanda) Lockwood of Oklahoma, and James Norton of Colorado; 17 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Chris) Kodada of Minnesota, Stan (Genia) Kodada of Florida; sister, Sandy Wingenbach of Minnesota and numerous nieces and nephews.
