SPRINGFIELD–Joan Elizabeth (Holman) Carruthers of Springfield, Minnesota, age 89, passed away at Arbor Springs Memory Care Center in West Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday, April 5, 2024. Visitation will be on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church, Springfield, MN. The funeral ceremony will be held at the St. John Lutheran Church on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. The clergy will be Chaplain Noel Wetter. Interment will be at the Springfield City Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, Minnesota. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com. Joan is survived by her son David (Linda) of Springfield, 2 granddaughters; and 2 great grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, son Paul, and sister Geraldine Pfest. Memorials can be given to St John Lutheran Home to be directed to the Riverhaven dementia unit.
