NEW ULM–Susan Beth Nelson, 72, of New Ulm, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Ridgeview Hospital in Le Sueur. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm.  Pastor David Nissen will officiate, and burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church prior to the service. The Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes of New Ulm are assisting the family with arrangements at this time. Susan is survived by her daughter, Tracy Nelson-Welker of North Branch; her son, Justin Nelson of St. Peter; her 4 grandchildren; her mother, Ardis Groebner of New Ulm; and her brothers, Michael Groebner of Courtland, Joel Groebner of Longmont, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her father, Max Groebner. A full obituary will follow in a later edition of The Journal.
