Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Elisabeth, his siblings, Adolf and Peter; and his loving wife of 65 years, Anna Rachor who died on June 14, 2023.

Rudy was born July 30, 1932, to Otto and Elisabeth (Kafferlein) Rachor in Aschaffenburg, Germany. Rudy grew up during WWII in a family of 9 siblings. He endured many experiences and hardships during that time. It was those times that made him so appreciative of everything he had in life. He was a simple man who lived a simple life, but was always satisfied with what he had.

Rudy and Anna met in Aschaffenburg in 1951, and were married on October 4, 1957. They lived in four different countries throughout their lives together; Germany, Venezuela, Canada, and the United States. All of the moves were related to his trade as a brewmaster. The last move was to New Ulm in 1968 where he got a job at Schell’s Brewery, then later worked at Kraft, from where he retired in 1990. Rudy and Anna were members of Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.

Rudy loved nature and in his free time enjoyed yardwork, gardening, home repairs, listening to classical music, taking a yearly vacation to Canada to visit friends, and of course, spending time with his family and grandchildren. Rudy was a great storyteller, and was very knowledgeable and interested in many things. People loved to listen to his many life experiences. He had a great sense of humor and left an impression on many people. When Anna began to suffer from dementia, he took care of her at home for as long as he could until it was no longer safe. He visited her daily in the memory care, bringing her snacks and foods she used to enjoy, giving her foot rubs, and just trying to show his love and dedication to her. Rudy has left us with a legacy of memories. He will forever be in our hearts. Blessed be his memory.

Donations may be made in his memory to Allina Hospice.
