NEW ULM–Paul B. Hoffman, age 82, of New Ulm passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Oak Hills Living Center. He reached for God’s hand early in the morning; his favorite time of day.

Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles with Father Joshua Bot celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH Chapel in New Ulm.

Paul is survived by his wife, Margery; sons, Peter (Beverly) Hoffman; Don (Diane) Hoffman and Steve (Kerry) Hoffman; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Domeier, Ruth (Marvin) Tauer, Rosemary Hoffman (Tom), Sue Hoffman and Mary (John) Pearson; a brother Tom (Mary) Hoffman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marge Dauer; brothers, Robert and David Hoffman.

Paul Bernard Hoffman was born October 15, 1941, in New Ulm to Oscar and Frieda (Holm) Hoffman. He graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School in 1959. Paul was united in marriage to Margery Grossmann September 16, 1961. He dedicated his entire life to farming in Cottonwood Township. Paul enjoyed deer hunting in Wyoming, tending to his beef cows and watching old westerns. He taught his boys the value of hard work and the importance of taking time off. The good times will be cherished.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Financial and a past member of the Searles Baseball Association and St. John’s Parish Council.
