NEW ULM–Marvin E. Frericks, age 94, of New Ulm, died Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. Burial with full military honors accorded by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery – Soldier’s Rest Section.

Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Eunice; his children, Jan Frericks, Karen Frericks, Pam (Brian) McGlinch, and Doug (Lori) Frericks; six grandchildren; sister-in-law, Connie Frericks; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Cletus, Norbert, Harry, and Don Frericks; sisters, Rose Ann Sprenger and Marina Brau; and his parents.

Marvin Edward Frericks was born on February 19, 1929 in Wabasso, MN to John & Elizabeth (Leiting) Frericks. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After his service he worked on the family farm. Marvin was united in marriage to Eunice Huiras on October 28, 1959 at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth. He then was employed at Kraft in New Ulm, and later worked in its trucking division as a truck driver. Marvin enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and occasionally going down to the local bar for a beer and to shoot the breeze. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 132.
