NICOLLET–Arlene M. Helle, age 86, of Nicollet, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Laurels Peak Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. Pastor Micah Plocher will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 12 noon – 2 p.m. on Monday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet.

Arlene is survived by her daughters, Renita (Dale) Lange of Nicollet, Beverly (Alpay) Onder of Novi, MI; son, Duane (Alyssa) Helle of New Ulm; grandchildren, Brady and Owen Onder, Meredith and Charlotte Helle; brother, Victor (Marlene) Johnson of Nicollet; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert in 2017; her parents; and sister, Margaret Norell.

Arlene Mae Johnson was born on April 16, 1937 in Nicollet to Martin & Irene (Enter) Johnson. She graduated from Nicollet High School in 1955. Arlene was united in marriage to the love of her life, Herbert Helle, on June 26, 1965 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet. In addition to being a homemaker raising her three children, she worked at DMLC in the kitchen, the telephone company in St. Peter, Fingerhut in Gaylord, and Young America in Mankato. Arlene was a former member of the Nicollet Legion Auxiliary 510 until 2018. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards and games, and spending time with her grandkids. She will be dearly missed.
