Kathleen “Kathy” Marie Dolly was born August 2, 1949, in New Ulm to Eldon E. and Flora M. (Hauer) Dolly. Growing up in New Ulm, Kathy was a 1967 graduate from New Ulm High School. Kathy was united in marriage to Steven “Steve” Weyer on September 9, 1989, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Kathy worked for 20 years at the State Bank and Trust in New Ulm. She started her career as a teller, but worked her way up to loan secretary. During this time, she also worked “her fun job” as a server at Turner Hall in New Ulm. Kathy later worked for 12 years at Canyon Outback Leather Goods in New Ulm until her retirement. To stay busy during retirement, Kathy went to work at the Martin Luther College in the kitchen where she could socialize and stay connected with the community. Besides her work, there were a variety of hobbies Kathy enjoyed in life. She enjoyed travelling when she could, going for a ride on the Harley with Steve, or simply relaxing in the sunshine. As an individual who couldn’t pass up a good deal, she also enjoyed shopping any chance she could. Anyone who knew Kathy also knew she enjoyed to socialize. Get togethers, town events, and family gatherings always brightened her day. Kathy enjoyed volunteering her time bringing smiles to locals faces as “Fernelda” with the Narren. She was also involved with the New Ulm American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of the Catholic Church. Although her passing seems sudden, countless memories of good times shared will forever stay in the hearts of all who knew her best. Blessed be her memory.
