Janice M. Hegler

Janice M. Hegler, age 72, of Hanska, died Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, with Father Joshua Bot celebrating the mass. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Searles.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Sunday, June 18 and will continue from 9-10:30 am on Monday, June 19 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-North Chapel in New Ulm.
The Christian Mother’s will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 18 at the Cathedral.

Janice is survived by her sister-in-law, Janet Roesch; nieces, Amy Jo (Nic Williams) Roesch and her children, Landen, Logan, Charly and Clara, and Amber (Jeff) Berg and her children, Devan and Camden; brother-in-law, Vern (Judy) Hegler; niece, Miriam Hegler and nephew, Luke (Karre Staloch) Hegler. She is also survived by niece, Cheryl; and nephews, Scott, Joe, and James Roesch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny in 2011; her parents; brother, Robert Roesch; and her dog, Diesel.
Janice Marie Roesch was born on September 8, 1950 in New Ulm to Robert & Hildegard (Reinarts) Roesch. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1968. Janice then furthered her education at Mankato Area Vocational Technical Institute, graduating in 1971 with her LPN degree. She was united in marriage to Daniel Hegler on November 18, 1989 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. Janice was employed as a LPN at Highland Manor and then at Oak Hills Living Center from 1968 -2015. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Madelia, and the Madelia Council of Catholic Women. In addition, Janice was a member of the Christian Mother’s. She enjoyed baking, cooking, canning and going to shows with her great-nephews. Janice was always available to help peel potatoes for funeral lunches, and baking items for various bake sales. She and Danny enjoyed road trips and camping at Mille Lacs or Okoboji with the Air Streamer. Janice loved reading books, country music, and watching the Young and the Restless. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family and her dogs, Chocco and Max.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring and compassionate teams of Oak Hills Living Center staff and New Ulm Alina Hospice staff.
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are preferred to Oak Hills Living Center or NUACS.
