Roy “Snooker” Wesley Jenson

Roy “Snooker” Wesley Jenson passed away on February 27, 2023, in Cenntenial.CO. after a bout with Lymphoma and several months of heart and lung problems. His funeral will be held at Abiding Lutheran Church in Highlands Ranch, CO. on Saturday. Roy was born on October 5, 1943 to Roy O. and Verna (Witt) Jenson in New Ulm. After graduating from New Ulm High School he attended Minneapolis/St. Paul Vocational Trade School and Arapahoe|Community College in Littleton, CO. Roy worked at Data Products, Martin Marietta, Reynolds Aluminum, worked on the Space Shuttle Project in 1977 and Lockheed Martin Aerospace, retiring in 1999.

Roy married Vala Crail and moved back to Denver with his stepchildren, David and Mary Crail. Roy’s son, Jesse Bennett Jenson was born in Denver in 1978.

Roy was an avid bowler and hunter. Roy enjoyed activities with his special friend, Essie Hatch – ballroom dancing, water aerobics, music, Bronco and Rockies games, traveling and visiting family.

Roy is survived by his special friend, Estelle “Essie” Hatch of Lone Tree. CO; ex-wife Vala Crail and stepson David Crail of Englewood, CO; stepdaughter, Mary Çrail Tucker (Chris) and their son. Dylan, of Las Vegas, NV; nephew Darren Haas and niece Deanne Haas, both of Burbank. CA, his cousins and many friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents Roy O. and Verna Jenson, his beloved son, Jesse Jenson who died in 2019, his sister, Sonja Haas, and his niece Doreen Haas.

Roy will be remembered by many for his uncanny sense of humor. and his caring and compassion for all people. He was a member of Abiding Word Lutheran Church in Highlands Ranch, CO. He was also a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm before moving away after graduation.

Memorials preferred to Abiding Word Lutheran Church, local American Heart Association, American Lung Association or donor’s choice.
