Nora Kristen Olson Earnest, 47, passed away at Presbyterian St Luke’s Hospital in Denver, CO on Jan. 23, 2023.
Nora was born in New Ulm, MN on Sept. 19, 1975. Eager for life she arrived 3 months early and spent her first three months in the neonatal unit of Children’s Hospital, Minneapolis. She was a fighter from day one and continued fighting thru several bouts of cancer over the past 12 years.
Nora graduated from Cathedral High School, New Ulm, Loyola University, Chicago, and Creighton Law School, Omaha. Her work career included caregiving for clients of a group home and advocacy work for ARC in Denver. Often thinking of others’ needs and given a take charge personality, Nora brought compassion and capability to every task she undertook. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister and friend.
Nora utilized her skills in establishing the Earnest Scholarship Fund in connection with Porter Adventist Hospital. This foundation provides financial support for cancer patients and their families to have time together as respite from medical stress. Nora was active in her church serving in leadership on the church vestry, was a past Boy Scout Leader, and was a member of PEO. She was constant and committed in all her endeavors. She was a good neighbor and appreciated her Weaver Circle friends. Nora’s interests included travel, music, reading, hiking. She was a true dog lover and most fond of boxers. She appreciated every day she was given.
Memorial service is 3:00 p.m., Jan. 26 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Centennial.
