Visitation will be on Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 10 to 11 a,m, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye.

Service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 11 a.m. The clergy will be Father Mark Steffl. Interment will be in the Japanese Martyrs Catholic Cemetery in Leavenworth.

Evelyn, the youngest of 7 children, was born April 14, 1924 in Mulligan Township, Brown County to John and Barbara (Reminger) Mathiowetz. She grew up and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, graduating in 1943. Evelyn worked at A.J. Pietrus & Standard Co. and later at Farmers Elevator for 21 years, working as a bookkeeper.

Evelyn is survived by nieces and nephews, Lawrence Sellner, Elaine Schueler, Br. Martin Sellner, Jerome Sellner, Ronald (Mary) Mathiowetz, Lucille (Charles) Moldaschel, Alice Wellman and Marge (Leonard) Seidl.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Louis, Fredolin and Florian; sisters, Sophie Sellner, Mary Poss and Louisa Groebner and special niece Lois Groebner.
