Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 21, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm, with Father Gerald Meidl officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.

David is survived by his sisters, Donna Holm and Lois (Arlyn) Keute, both of New Ulm; brothers, Steve (Jennifer) and Leo Hesse, both of New Ulm; and his nieces and nephews, Scott Holm, Denise Anthony, Krisa Keute, Amanda Christiansen, Sara Hesse, Steve Hesse Jr, Robert Hesse, Michelle Hesse, Carrie Meredith, Terry Filzen, Dale Filzen, and Julie Hellendrung.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rita (Rich) Filzen; a brother, Gary (Judy) Hesse; and a nephew, Travis Keute.

David Lawrence Hesse was born on January 25, 1944 in San Diego, CA to Elmer & Loretta (Rieger) Hesse. He graduated from New Ulm High School in 1963. David then furthered his education at the Dunwoody Technical Institute where he studied to become an electrician. After school David served in the U.S Army and was stationed in Korea. After his honorable discharge, he began his career as a union electrician, a job he did his entire career. David loved spending time at his lake home in northern Minnesota. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports on TV, especially the Twins.
