Charles A. Forster
NEW ULM — Charles A. Forster, age 88, of New Ulm passed away Sunday, October 9th, 2022 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.
A private burial will take place with Military Honors provided by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH Chapel.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Barb (Dean) Meyer of Pipestone, Pam Anderson of New Ulm; son, Brad (Brandy) Forster of Kingsport, TN; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Forster and his sister, Donna Krosche.
Charles Albert Forster was born September 19, 1934 to Harold and Loretta (Hoffman) Forster in New Ulm. Charlie graduated from Holy Trinity High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army. Charlie met the love of his life Margaret Niehoff at Lloyd’s Uptown Tavern in New Ulm. They corresponded via letters while Charlie was stationed in Greenland while in the Army. Charlie was united in marriage to Margaret Niehoff on September 22, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. They lived in Texas while Charlie was in the Army before eventually settling back in New Ulm. Charlie took over Forster Furniture from his father in 1964 he ran the business with his wife for over 40 years. Charlie was an avid bowler and was inducted into the New Ulm Bowling Hall of Fame. Charlie had a great sense of humor and could get anyone to laugh. He also enjoyed golf, going on family camping trips, motorcycles, computer games, and baseball but above all else he loved to spend time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Blessed be his memory.
