Beverly J. Schroepfer

Beverly J. Schroepfer, age 88, of Sleepy Eye, died on Sept. 12, 2022, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye after a long, courageous battle against Alzheimer’s disease.
Visitation will be on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, and will continue on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the north entrance of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye.
There will be a prayer service Monday at 4 p.m. to start the visitation.
A funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, at 10:30 a.m.
The clergy will be Father Tanner Thooft.
Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
A time of fellowship will be held in the church social room after the interment.
Memorials are preferred to St. Mary’s Church in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

Beverly Joy Voss was born on Oct. 21, 1933, at the Jackson Hospital in Jackson, Minnesota, the daughter of Rudolph & Hilda (Brehmer) Voss. She went to Sioux Valley Consolidated School, graduating in 1951. She then attended North-West Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis. Beverly worked at the Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital as a laboratory technician from 1952-56. Beverly married Joseph C. Schroepfer on Aug. 23, 1955. The couple made their home in Sleepy Eye. She worked for the Sleepy Eye Medical Clinic as a receptionist from 1970-71 and for Cargill Elevator as bookkeeper from 1972-83. Bev later worked as a latch key supervisor at St. Mary’s from 1989-92. She was a member of St. Mary’s Guild, Divine Providence Auxiliary, Christian Mothers, VFW Auxiliary, Sleepy Eye Hospital Auxiliary, Sleepy Eye Golf Club and Morning Glories Extension Group. She volunteered at St. Mary’s Church and school and also at Next to Nu, and served as social room supervisor for many years. Bev took part in many social and card clubs. She enjoyed riding mopeds, watching sports, cooking and baking, along with crafts such as hardanger embroidery and ceramics. She enjoyed golfing, especially women’s and couples league. She loved their many trips to the camper on Spider Lake.
She is survived by her children, Barb (Alvin) Krzmarzick, Tom (Brenda) Schroepfer, Jim (Maggie) Schroepfer and Don (Connie L.) Schroepfer, all of Sleepy Eye; and Roger (Amy) Schroepfer of Palatine, Illinois; grandchildren, Becky, Brent, Brian, Laura, Angie, Christy, Justin, Megan, Sonni, Mikail, Sophia and Sidney; 22 great-grandchildren; and brother, Leon (Violet) Voss of Lakefield. She was preceded in death by her parents and great-granddaughter, Madelyn Rose; husband, Joseph in 2017; and siblings, Virgil and Vernon Voss and Vernetta Cranston.
