A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at First Baptist Church in New Ulm. Pastor Patrick Thompson will be officiating. There will be a meal and time to gather after the service (those who gather are encouraged to bring a dish to share).

Kevin leaves his twin sister, Kim Schmidt (Richard); brother, Marvin; daughter, Kelly Kreuger (Sean) and grandchildren Kyleigh Mellingen, Tango Kreuger; son, Raymond Mellingen; niece, Katie Evans and family; nephews, Allen Evans and William Mellingen (Emily) and family.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lucille (Larson) Mellingen; brothers. Marty and Dennis; and son, Eric Mellingen.

Kevin J. Mellingen was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to his parents,

Raymond and Lucille (Larson) Mellingen on Feb. 27, 1964. He went to Central High School in St Paul. Kevin was a kind man always there to lend a helping hand, He was funny and caring.

Kevin was an antique dealer and collector who loved finding

old things. He liked to dumpster dive, seeing other people’s

trash as potential treasures. He had store fronts in the Twin

Cities, and he eventually moved to New Ulm in 2003, where he would show his prizes at the old Cat And The Fiddle.
