Jo Ann is survived by her sons, Jon (Julie) Christiansen of Overland Park, Kansas, and Todd (Sara) Christiansen of New Ulm; grandchildren, Brady, Jase, Mark, Rose and Carina; brother, Robert (Mary) Jost of Waite Park; and nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Christiansen; sister, Sister Elaine Jost, O.S.B.; and her brothers, James and Thomas Jost.
Jo Ann Mary Jost was born Sept. 24, 1944, to Mathias and Lorraine (Nierengarten) Jost in St. Cloud. She graduated from high school in 1962. On July 8, 1967, Jo Ann was united in marriage to Jerry Frederic Christiansen at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph. After marriage, the couple resided in New Ulm, where Jo Ann worked for Dr. Albright’s Dentistry and then Brown County Family Services. In addition to working, Jo Ann also volunteered with the Boy Scouts, enjoyed making various crafts, decorating her house for holidays, tending to her gardens, feeding the birds, and spending time with her family. Many memories were made with the families she worked with at Brown County, the Moms Group, and many of the Boy Scout events. Jo Ann will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the New Ulm Area Catholic Schools and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
