Glen was born on Dec. 21, 1936, at Union Hospital in New Ulm, the youngest child of Arthur and Meta Schauer. He was baptized on Dec. 22, 1936, and confirmed on May 28, 1950. He married Elaine Studeman on Oct. 25, 1958, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. Glen was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Arlington Township. Glen farmed in Kelso Township and worked for Big Stone and Seneca Foods. He also worked for J&P Farm Supply, Quast Amoco and did custom swathing for farmers.

Glen is survived by his son, Gordon Schauer; daughter-in-law, Marlys Schauer; and step-grandson, Matthew Burmeister. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, on April 14, 1996, his parents and his siblings, Gerald Schauer and Vernon Schauer.
