Ramona W. Evenson

Ramona W. Evenson, age 104, of Arlington, passed away Monday, April 11 at the Arlington Good Samaritan Society. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 22, at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Clear Lake Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery in Severance Township, rural Gibbon. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements.

Ramona was born on March 22, 1918, in Bandon Township, Renville County to Otto and Amanda (Eggers) Freyholtz. Ramona married Lloyd T. Evenson on June 18, 1946, at the Norwegian Lutheran Church in Mahnomen. Ramona spent her time being a homemaker, waitress at the Gibbon Ballroom, working at the Arlington Super Valu, and working at Hands Inc. in Winthrop. Ramona was a volunteer for the Good Samaritan Auxiliary and also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her children, Carol (Keith) Boerner, Janet (Jim) Stein, and Lynn (Wendy) Evenson, her seven grandchildren; Christopher (Katie) Boerner, Kyle (Briann) Boerner, Kevin Boerner, Jenn (Brent) Nygaard, Justin (Danielle) Stein, Joel (Keenie) Evenson, Kathryn Evenson and special friend Paul Finke, and her twelve great grandchildren; Clayton, Lucy and Otto Boerner, Josey and Eve Nygaard, Annessa, Lola, Elloise and Theodore Stein, Beckett, Cooper, and Brady Evenson, and her sisters; Alpha Evenson and Deloris Somdalen, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ramona is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; two granddaughters, Carrie Ann Boerner and Sarah Evenson; and her siblings, Roy, Vernon, Wilbert, Milton, Earl, Lester and Mildred.
