Conrad A. Trapp

Conrad A. Trapp, age 84, of New Ulm, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

A public visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes – SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm. Masks are not required, but are preferred to be worn by guests attending the visitation.

A private funeral service will be held. Pastor Kathy Ulland-Klinkner will officiate, and a private burial will take place in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Conrad is survived by his wife, Bette Trapp of New Ulm; sons, David Trapp of New Hope, Michael (Amber) Trapp of Chaska; grandchildren, Griffin, Olivia and Abigail Trapp; and his brother, Albert C. (Lorna) Trapp of Excelsior.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Trapp; and his nephew, Mark Trapp.

Conrad Arthur Trapp was born July 10, 1937, to Albert J. and Clara (Minssen) Trapp in Little Falls. Conrad attended country school near Randall, and graduated from Little Falls High School in 1955. After high school, Conrad attended St. Cloud State University where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in education. He later received his master’s degree in math as well as his MBA, both from Mankato State University. Conrad taught math and science in Arlington Heights, Illinois, for two years. He later taught math, science and computer science at New Ulm Public School from 1961 until his retirement in 2002. While teaching in New Ulm, Conrad developed the Computer Education Program for the New Ulm Public Schools. He also taught adult education as an adjunct instructor for Mankato State University. Conrad married Bette Hasselmeyer on June 14, 1969, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. This union blessed the couple with two sons whom together they raised in New Ulm. Conrad was a member of the NUvest and New Growth Investment Clubs, a dedicated member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, and also served as the commissioner for Sister Cities Commission in New Ulm. He will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Blessed be his memory.
