Constance “Connie” Goebel

Constance “Connie” Goebel, 90, of New Ulm, died peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, March 28, 2022, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2022, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, with Father Gerald Meidl celebrating the Mass.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral.

The Christian Mother’s Society will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Cathedral.

The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements.

Connie is survived by her daughters, Linda (Kevin) Moehn of San Diego, California, Joni Arnoldy of Salem, Oregon, Barb (John) Howard of Andover and Peggy (Rick) Kelley of Nicollet; 11 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Goebel; a grandson, Cory Howard; and great grandsons, Charles Kelley and Maurice Kimball.

Constance Marie Brixous was born May 26, 1931, in Minneapolis to Jacob and Maria (Joa) Brixous. She was united in marriage to William Goebel on October 2, 1948, and they were blessed with four daughters. After marriage they lived in Freeport; Emerald, Wisconsin; Bloomington, Illinois; Sleepy Eye; and then New Ulm. Connie was employed at Woolworth’s, Meidl Music and Sioux Valley Hospital until her retirement. She enjoyed bowling, garage sales, auctions and antiques. Connie volunteered with Meals on Wheels and at Cathedral counting money and laundering cassocks. She was a member of Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Catholic Daughters, Christian Mother’s and CCW.
